Reviewed by Joe: First off let me preface this review by saying I am a fan of Robin Anderson’s work. He is a talented author who has a gift for painting vivid pictures and he has a real way with dialogue. That being said, I unfortunately did not care for his newest novel. I wasn’t able to get into it. I like camp but this was almost too campy for me and I thought it would serve better as a screenplay than a novel. I think one of the reasons why it was hard for me to get into the book was, having a lot of friends who are drag queens and seeing a lot of drag shows, I am use to having the visual and for me that visual that I was expecting didn’t translate well for me onto the page.
The book is well written. As usual Mr. Anderson paints a great picture and his gift for witty dialogue is as strong as ever.
